Amazon has made its first outdoor mesh router

Amazon has expanded its wireless mesh router family with the eero Outdoor 7, which, as the name suggests, is built for outdoor usage.

With that in mind, the eero 7 Outdoor has a few specs you won't find on a standard eero, such as IP66 weatherproofing. Amazon says the router can operate in temperatures from as low as -40C to as high as 55C, and that it is protected against rain, snow, and sun.

More traditional specs include WiFi 7 support (with wireless speeds of up to 2.1Gbps) and a 2.5Gbps WAN port. This means it will work with plans as fast as NBN 2000. Amazon says the eero 7 Outdoors can offer as much as 1,390 meters of wireless coverage.

As a mesh router, the eero 7 Outdoor is designed to pair with other devices in the eero family, such as the eero 7 and eero Pro 7.

Locally, the eero 7 Outdoor is priced at $729.99. It is available to order via Amazon now.
