SpinTel has joined the likes of Telstra, Optus, and Aussie Broadband in ostensibly promising congestion free NBN plans on speed tiers as fast as NBN 100. The telco is now reporting typical evening speeds that match each NBN speed tier's maximum speed.
This means SpinTel customers can expect peak hour speeds of 100Mbps on NBN 100 plans, 50Mbps on NBN 50 plans, 25Mbps on NBN 25 plans, and 1Mbps on NBN 12 plans. SpinTel does not offer plans faster than NBN 100.
Here is SpinTel's range of NBN plans:

Typical evening speeds refer to the NBN performance customers can expect during the busiest times of the day - between 7pm to 11pm. In short, this new speed guidance suggests SpinTel customers will be able to get the maximum speeds available on their plan tier no matter what they want to get online.
While SpinTel's evening speeds now go toe-to-toe with more premium providers, its plans are on the cheaper side. If you're after an NBN 100 plan, you'll pay $74 per month for your first six months with SpinTel, then $84.95 per month thereafter.
For comparison, Aussie Broadband charges $89 per month for its NBN 100 plan, and then $99 per month thereafter. Optus charges $95 per month, and attracts a $99 setup fee. You'll also need to pay a modem fee if you leave within your first 36 months. This is equivalent to $7 multiplied by the number of months left in your three-year term. Telstra charges $90 per month for your first six months, and $110 per month thereafter. There's also a modem fee if you leave Telstra within your first 24 months, which is equivalent to $9 multiplied by the number of months left in your two-year term.
Here are the fastest NBN 100 plans from major providers you can get right now:

As always, it is worth remembering that factors like in-home wiring and equipment can result in lower speeds than expected. In addition, customers on FTTN plans will be limited to the maximum speeds their connection can achieve. A FTTN premise needs to be within 400 metres of the local exchange to have a chance of achieving NBN 100 speeds.
