Telstra's NBN 500 plan just hit its lowest price of 2026

If you've been waiting for the right moment to move to Telstra's NBN 500, this is it. Right now the plan costs $69 a month if you bring your own modem, or $79 a month if you want a Telstra Wi-Fi modem included. Both prices apply for your first six months, and they're the lowest Telstra has charged for this plan at any point in 2026.

There is a catch though, and it's a simple one: the deal ends on Monday 2 November. 

What's the deal? 

You can take the plan two ways, and both are discounted:

• Bring your own modem: $69/mth for six months, then $99/mth. Best if you're happy with your current modem.
• Include a Telstra Wi-Fi modem: $79/mth for six months, then $113/mth. The modem is yours to keep once you've been connected for 24 months.

There's no lock-in contract on either option. If you take the modem and leave within 24 months, you'll pay out the rest of its cost at $9 for each month remaining. There's no promo code to enter: the discount applies automatically when you sign up.

But wasn’t 50% off a better deal? 

Half price sounds hard to beat, but the 50%-off deal only lasted two months, while today’s discount runs for six. To put it simply: the 50% off deals saved $99 to $113, while today’s offer saves $180 to $204, close to double.
